“One Nation, Under God”
 by Larry Ray Hafley
As you may have heard, the expression in the Pledge of Allegiance, "one nation, under God," is under attack. The same liberal, godless advocates of abortion and homosexual marriage are opposed to any national reference or reliance upon God. Be not deceived, "separation of church and state" is not their goal. Denying God and destroying the influence of his word is their agenda; it is "what they are all about."

When will they demand the abolition of the "Star Spangled Banner" as our national anthem? Note the fourth verse of that great, old song:

"Oh, thus be it ever, when free men shall stand

Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation!

Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,

And this be out motto: ’In God is our trust"

And the Star-spangled banner forever shall wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!"

Observe the numerous references to Deity-"the heaven-rescued land," "the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation," and, of course, "In God is our trust." When will liberals insist that we abolish such words? The song requests that the nation "Praise the Power (God) that hath made and preserved us a nation." How can they let that stand and be consistent with their insistence that "one nation, under God," be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance?

Since blessed is that nation whose God is the Lord, cursed will be that nation whose God is not the Lord.
